| This tree was discovered by Dale Thornburg and Robert Van Pelt along the Bald Hills Road. I defer to Van Pelt's book Forest Giants of the Pacific Coast and his eloquent drawing and description. I have not yet found this tree but according to accounts by Thornburg, this stand holds some amazing specimens of this species. |
